About

Hiya – my name is Robert Colin Day – welcome to my blog!

This is where I share some of my thoughts, a daily Writing Tip, a daily Well-being article, short stories, the occasional poem and whatever else I fancy indulging myself in.

Here’s a little about me:

I prefer to be different, yet to blend into the crowd. In other words, I’m conflicted. This enables me to be creative.

For the first time ever, I reveal to the internet community that I grew up in Chapeltown, Sheffield, which is in England. I now live in York – a little further north and hence a little grimmer.

My New Year’s Revolution (I know) for 2013 was to be more of a Producer, and less of a Consumer. To this end I started reading every book I could find on Creative Writing, became a mad dabbler with GarageBand, and spent ridiculous amounts of money drawing a naked bloke (2 sessions at £10 each – I ask you!) among other things.

Consequently, to date I’ve written fascinating stories and vignettes, made sweet music and drawn drawings, some of which I will share with you in as the days roll on.

You’re welcome to follow me, walk with me or lead me on – I am open to experience.

  1. So, how are you now, Robert? I think you have great potential as a writer and a critic. I am grateful for your comments on my short story and would be honoured if you could read more of it.

      • Hey, Marianne – good to connect again! How was your group last night? (Hi John – sorry to gate-crash your comment – this is Marianne – we met in real life at a pub last night – she was looking for a German Speaking group and we (a Writing group) had hijacked their usual space).
The Writing group was pretty good – full of introverted geniuses who peeked over the parapet reluctantly, but ever so sweetly. As for me – I wrote another writing that I proudly posted to my blog. Life is good. 🙂
Hope you both are having a great day.
        Kindness – Robert.

  2. Hi there!

I just wanted to personally thank you for your wonderful comment on my ‘A Letter to Anyone Who Seeks a Fulfilling Relationship’ post on The Seeds 4 Life. It made my night.

I wanted to respond to you directly on the site, but there was no reply button. However, it worked out better this way. Now I get to take a look at your writing.

I’m especially interested in the poems. Poetry is actually one of my main passions. 🙂

Anyway, I hope to see you around the Etheric Archives blog.

    Have a fantastic, positivity-filled month!

    • You’re very welcome Eva. I was also a little puzzled about the link between Seeds4Life, Etheric Archives and WordPress – I’m glad you found me and was able to have a look around.
I don’t write much poetry, and Und3r Th3 Gard3n was a bit of an experimental piece. I’d be fascinated to know what you thought about it? For me – I’m still not sure if it stands up as poetry.
I’m so glad that I made your night – that is so kind of you to say that.
You have a great month too Eva – hope we get a chance to chat some more. 🙂

    • I will. Who could resist such a post. 🙂
To be honest – I would have returned your visit to my blog without the fancy inducement. Thanks for popping over though.
Hmm – just visited https://thoughtsofacivilian1.wordpress.com/, which looks like a dummy WordPress page. I wonder why you did that. This makes me more suspicious of your invitation.
Hmm – I visited your link and I’m afraid I’m going to have to turn down your kind invitation for me to write articles for your blog free of charge – tempting though it is. I think I’ll stick to writing and posting them on my own blog thanks.
Suggestion – you could accomplish the same effect by just re-blogging articles that you like onto your own WordPress site. To do this, navigate to the article you like and at the bottom of the page either click the ‘Press This’ or the ‘Reblog’ buttons.
Good luck with your endeavours. 🙂

  3. Hey Robert, You’ve got it all covered. The words and plot, the visuals and the music. First visit and will read some more posts. Keep up the life drawing practice and don’t throw the old ones out so you can see how much you have progressed. Another Aussie Louise

  6. So, I did some snoopin’ (a short one though, but an efficient one) and you are funny! Not in the “he-gets-me-laughing” kinda way, more like “he-gets-me-laughing-but-also-gets-me-thinking” way, and that’s lovely! Your writing tips are practical, and please do upload some of your music and your drawings of the naked bloke *wink**wink*
    Here’s my follow!
    Cheers!
