There’s something hinky going on at Womaves.

On the face of it, the site is a woman’s magazine with some pretty interesting articles. Here’s a picture of a couple of them:

I’m not going to post anything but images here because I don’t trust the site. I’m not even going to post the URL, but you can Google it yourself if you want to take the risk.

I first came across Womaves when it started to follow me on a couple of my sites yesterday. It landed on two sites at the same time and, of course, I clicked the link to investigate. It took me to the WordPress Reader (so far so good) but then, when I clicked on one of those Read More links, something strange started to load in my browser. The URL said it was about Free Coupons – not what I expected or wanted. I closed the tab pronto.

If you do go to the site, I wouldn’t recommend you click on anything. Even right-clicking on the background of the site brings up something strange. You get sent straight immediately to some other site, but using this URL:

Again, this is just an image and is not clickable. Again, I closed the tab pronto.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty wary around the internet; there’s some funny stuff going on there (here), but I’ve also got a sense of adventure. Which is why, a few minutes ago, I posted a comment to Womaves (in the WordPress Reader) that said:

Who are you and why are you following me around?

Anyway, it made me smile.

So, let’s see what happens (if anything). I’ll let you know.

Be safe.

  1. The one that you clicked is just the ad, nothing criminal.
    Don’t be so suspicious 🙂

And if you don’t like content or new meets – that’s okay.
    Good luck in your adventures)
