First thing I need to say is that I’m not easily satisfied with people. I very rarely give out gold stars. This is probably because I’m not really the kind of person who likes to have things done for me. I much prefer to do things for other people and get gold stars from them.
That said, anthing relating to people giving me, or arranging for me, things that I like, gets my instant approval. On a basic level, this means nice and tasty food; the route to my heart really is through my stomach. In a wider sense, if you want me to do something for you, then giving me good and accurate requirements in a form that I can work with, such as a comprehensive list of bullet points, gets my vote every time.
Another thing that makes me happy is when people show an interest in me. Asking me questions about the things I like, what I’ve done, where I’ve been and what I like in terms of movies, books and music brings me out of my shell and makes me much more amenable. If people just make assumptions about me without asking first, then this loses them any chance of getting a gold star from me.
End of the day, I’m just a normal guy. If you remember to treat me like that then you’ll go a long way towards making me a very happy bunny in your company – ’nuff said.
