Heartfelt note by UK teenager triggers worldwide suicides on a massive scale. Members of the public urged to seek help before taking any action.
The following Tweet appears to have been the cause for suicides worldwide. Scientist are baffled by what media have already dubbed the Green Suicide Movement.
This was posted last night on Twitter:
Police are still investigating the source of this Tweet. An official statement released this morning reads ‘we are awaiting confirmation of the identity of this individual from Twitter, Inc.’
There have been calls for this Tweet to be deleted to halt this appalling tragedy. At the time of going to press 403 people have taken their lives in places as far apart as Outer Mongolia, South Africa, California and Finland.
(NB – This is a work of fiction – please stay well.)
Wow, love the way your mind works, Robert!

I worked that way in the loo as I was washing my hands. I was thinking about the amount of water and (hmm – what do you call the paper you dry your hands with in the US?) paper towels and stuff we all use and it struck me that the Ultimate Green Movement would be all about …
But perhaps you have already guessed the end of that sentence. 🙂

:D. And, oddly, we call them paper towels 🙂 But lots of places have hand dryers now. Hope all is well!

All is mostly well. I can’t decide whether I actually want to be a recluse or whether I’m having some kind of existential crisis (mid-life / nervous breakdown etc.) Of course, it could just be the chocolate. 🙂
How are you? Oh, wait – I should visit your blog and read all about it, yes?

Did you have your week off yet? I can’t lie, I have been a little concerned by your lack of responses to anyone. Miss those. No, you don’t have to take time to read my blog, I haven’t been very prolific lately. Working on expanding one of my stories to full length. Another, hopefully last, surgery on March 10, and watching little bits of hair grow back on my head — as exciting as watching paint dry 🙂

Yeah – sorry about that, Dee. Way too reclusive. Not to worry, though – I go through phases. People getting too close scare me terribly. I’ve no idea why that should be, but it’d prolly fill a text-book. Sigh.
Week off? What’s that? Oh, wait – you mean the Writing Retreat? No – that’s from the 4th of March. Looking forward to it. 🙂
Good to hear your hair is growing. more surgery? Thought you’d done with that!

Some people need more alone time than others, I’m sure. Yep, final surgery had to wait till chemo was done. Replacing expander with implant. Doc and I agreed they would do as little as possible to minimize chance of bleeding complications, no naked pictures anymore, tho 😀

What?! You’ve been taking naked pictures of people?!
Hey – just had a thought. Did it cross your mind that you could have your breasts … enhanced at the same time as all this shenanigans was going on? Like – a facelift, only for breasts (is there a word for that?) 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
That’s kind of the plan 🙂 if it weren’t for the possible complications, they would liposuction fat from my abdominal area and put it in both breasts while doing a lift on the left side to make it perky like the right side. We’re not doing the Lipo, but doc may do the lift on the left. And for the record, I only take pictures of people when naked 😉

Well in that case that sounds like an excellent plan, Dee! 😀
And the thing about getting perkier boobs sounds good too. 😉

Of course it sounds good, you’re a guy 😉

Hahaha – yeah, ’cause that’s the most important factor in any conversation – me being a guy! C’mon – tell me that you’re not a little please by a little bit of perk! 🙂

Well, I guess that’s true 🙂 You know, I’ve been SO focused on my lack of hair that I haven’t been as concerned about my body. Probably cause with clothing on, nobody would know about changes in my boobs. I think now I need to do a blog post about this, so thanks ❤

this reminds me of a newspaper article, is that the tone you were going for?

Precisely that, Anumita – a made up newspaper article – a piece of Fake news. 🙂
Be well – Robert.

well, it’s beautiful. it’s been a while, hasn’t it? how are you doing?

Yes – I’ve been a bit hermitish – sorry. Still writing every day, but not having any conversations with my readers. 😦
So, yes – life is good. Still working, studying, writing and breathing. 😉
Hope all is well with you.

Wait… If this is a work of fiction, then there was no such message posted?!?!
I’m sorry, but I think I missed something here…

No, you got it – you are spot on. There was no such Tweet, no such News Report and no such spate of suicides – I made it all up. Sorry.
Kindness – Robert.

How’s your writing going – done anything controversial lately? 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Well, nothing in particular… Just the usual.
What about you?

Still doing this Masters in Creative Writing. Learning plenty and then failing to implement it as often as not. 🙂
Having mood swings that make me communicative sometimes and then reclusive at others.
Erm. What else. Just normal stuff I guess – reading too much, watching Ally McBeale (old TV show) and, you know, eating and breathing, that sort of stuff. 🙂

Haha, yea, I can understand that! Even I’m going through this turning point in my life and I have no idea where I want to go afterwards…!
So frustrating being an adult!!😂

What do you enjoy doing most?

Well, writing and reading. And listening to music.
What about you?

We should totally be working in the music industry then! As writers! 😀
Oh, ’cause that’s what I like too. Sorry, should have said that first (which begs the question – why don’t I just edit my answer before I send it. Hmm – I don’t have an answer for that.)
Send.

I was thinking of writing a … longer piece of writing on it, with this as an intro. You, know – the lives behind the decisions etc. First up would be the guy who posted the original piece. Hmm – or maybe he should come last …
Anyway, how are you, Meg – good, I hope? 🙂

It would be doubly awful if the original poster didn’t actually kill himself and had never intended to…. in that case his story should come last. I’m doing alright; not awesome, not terrible. How about you?

That’s exactly what I was thinking of. 🙂
Sounds like you’re in exactly the same boat as I am, Meg. S’funny how much difference a young face and body make, you know what I mean?

Oh that is for sure. This year of my life is proving to be a challenge.

What!? No – not so, meg. I have it written here … *checks to make sure* … that Meg Sorick will have an excellent 2017. She will achieve one of her all-time goals early in the year and will, later in the year, draw up a plan that will bring massive long-term benefits. It’s written here, across my heart, so it must be true! 🙂

I’m good, thanks! Still blogging, but now doing a Masters in Creative Writing, and I have a new job as a Software Developer. Actually – maybe I was doing that last time we spoke …
Anyhow – good to see you. Enjoy your evening, and wish me goodnight, for it’s that time for me. 🙂
Kindness – Robert.

I think I did know about the Software Developer job, but that’s great about the Master’s. Good for you.
Have a great evening Robert.
