Liebster Award

aaa

YAY! I have been presented with the Liebster Award by Mimosa at https://kruidroermenietje.wordpress.com. The award is German and the name actually means (something like) Dearest Award – so that’s nice!

Here are the questions I was given, along with my answers:

  1. What was your first post on WordPress (please provide the link)?
My first proper post was me trying to get people to smile (https://levishedated.wordpress.com/2013/11/20/smile/)
  2. If you were given a chance to meet the people following you in WordPress who would you meet first and why?
Aw, c’mon – if that kind of thing was possible it’d just be one big party! Everyone would have to come and we would have a real banging time. 🙂 Besides, it would be so unfair to pick one when you are all so wonderful!
  3. When do you generally write – morning, daytime, evening or night?
I write in the daytime mostly, then some in the evening. Night is reserved for sleeping. 🙂
  4. Which piece of your writing is closest to your heart?
I actually like a lot, if not all of what I write, but one that seems to resonate with me is an attempt at poetry called Home: (https://levishedated.wordpress.com/2016/07/01/home/)
  5. What does writing mean to you?
Writing is a way for me to open up a porthole to the inside of me so that everyone can see what I’m made of. It is also there so that I can explore some of my tortured musings on life, love and the nature of humanity. Actually – none of that is as true as this: I am wonderful and I want you to know about it!
  6. How often do you write?
I write a new post every day, sometimes two per day, unless I’m out of range of the internet. I also reply to all comments.
  7. If you have to choose between writing and wealth, which would you choose and why?
Oh, writing – definitely. Writing is my wealth. But I will be releasing books too and I fully expect you to buy them, my good, good friends!
  8. What is the best and most beautiful thing of your life?
Oh, how many things can I choose – there are so many! I think freedom to be who I am is the best and most beautiful thing ever.
  9. What is the source of your inspiration for writing?
My own thoughts are the basis for all my posts. I am doing a set of Writing Tips that use the headings from a book called ‘1001 Ideas That Changed the World’ at the moment, but once the header is typed, the ideas are all mine. My own life is my inspiration too.
  10. What type of person are you (in five words)?
Ebullient, curious, challenging, creative and charming. Hmm – a lot of words beginning with C there – I wonder what that’s all about.

Here are my nominations (please nominate between 5 and 15 people):

Here are my questions for the above nominees (copy and paste these to your blog):

  1. Why do you blog?
  2. Who would you like to have dinner with tonight?
  3. What is the best piece of work you have ever done?
  4. Why do stars twinkle?
  5. What did you dream about last night?
  6. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
  7. How often do you get up in the night to pee?
  8. What would you like to do with your writing?
  9. How has your day gone so far today?
  10. How happy are you that this is the last question?

  1. A Liebster Award now? WOW!
I checked out the definition of the award and it said: sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome — all of these attributes just for you. Congratulations!!

Love all of the fun questions. 🙂
    Dajena 🙂

          • For me it depends on the context rather than the questions. I would tell lots to some people in some situations, but nothing to others in other situations.
Am I a private person? Hmm – I guess there are whole areas of myself that are basically ring-fenced and are never talked about. Other areas are open to a few people and then there is other stuff that I would blab to all and sundry.
(does it help or hinder if I get idiomatic on you?)

          • Ahh yes, the context. Well said Robert. It is good to see that after all, there are many things that we all like to keep to ourselves (and it is not just I that does that).
(write in any way you wish. if I don’t understand something, I will ask questions)

          • Thanks, Dajena. I think that sometimes I try too hard to create a certain impression – like ‘funny’ or clever’ for example and I forget to be me. It’s so easy to be something else, here – some glorified version of life. I think that perhaps I need to reveal myself more. Like, I need to be real. What do you think? Do you ever find yourself falling into traps like that?

          • You are welcome Robert. 🙂
And yes, I hear you. I am sure that at some extend we are all trying hard to let people understand.
Being an intuitive person, it is the nonverbals that say the rest of the story and when they are not around, it is hard for me to ‘read’ people.

I often get misunderstood, so I feel that I find myself explaining more than I would have if I were talking to people face to face. I also am like a ‘salad spinner’. I spin and spin thoughts in my head and read- and reread words people say, to try and understand what do people really mean. That is the trap that I fall into more than any other one. I want to keep things simple, and just not worry of continually being me (just like you said)
            I hope I am making sense.. 🙂

          • I love that you shared that with me, Dajena, and I love the way you shared it – the raw you – passionate – without edits – that’s the real you. There are some people that I would wish to be telepathic with and you are one of them. Your insides are real. I love that salad-spinner thing. Yes, yes, yes – I read you loud and clear. I understand you fully. Thank you, Dajena.

          • Smiling 🙂 I love it that you understand and the way you encourage me to be me. Most of the time, people just like the cover of the book, and take no time to read the story that is inside. But it seems that you are different and for that I am glad and happy to have encountered you in this blog reality. 🙂
