Using living organisms as a weapon to kill, incapacitate, or harm an enemy is not a modern invention – it is claimed that the Assyrians were at it 600 years BCE when they poisoned enemy wells with the ergot fungus.
Now, you might be thinking to yourself that it’s wrong to kill, but what if your enemy is your own thoughts and habits – the ones that hold you back. What if you desperately want to rid yourself of the urge to sit eating chocolate whilst replying to the comments on your blog, when you know that you should be getting on with writing your synopsis (for example)?
Here’s a quick guide to how you can wage warfare on unhelpful habits – and win:
- STOP READING THIS NOW AND GET ON WITH IT!!!
I hope you found this guide useful.
Oh, my gosh, it’s like you’re inside my head (or have cameras inside my house!) Fine, fine, I’m getting to work…

So there’s this bloke at a party and he’s got shiny, shiny shoes and he goes up to one woman and stand real close, looks down, looks up at her and says ‘You’re a Manchester United fan aren’t you?’ and she says ‘Yes, how did you know?’, but she blushes, because by then she’s guessed how he knows and what he’s seen with his shiny, shiny shoes … oh, just thought on – you might not get the punch-line – it’s about English Football. Never mind.
Yeah – work! (sound of whip cracking). 🙂

Well, I know they’re a soccer team and it wasn’t a good year and maybe I’m guessing the punchline? But you’re right, I need to go do laundry and stuff 😀

Ah, so you know about Arsenal! Jolly good show. 🙂
Enjoy the laundry, and don’t lean up against the machine for too long when it’s on the spin cycle. 😉

Well, eraser didn’t make any sense, or boots, or, uhm, anything else that rubbers could be where size mattered 🙂

Same here…I have loads of ideas but really need to start accruing writer habits properly. Thing is it all started as just a hobby…the sort to pass time as an interest. I never anticipated anyone would like it…that caught me out a bit so focus changed to maybe I should try and publish. Obviously, that has moved it from hobby to something more serious…ergo need to start that scheduling thing 😱

Just remember to have fun while you’re doing it. Fun is fun! 🙂
But yeah – it feels rather nice to be liked for doing something that you enjoy, doesn’t it?

The writing bit is fun and I reckon once through a publishing route that part will be too 🤔
And quite right..it is pretty cool to find people like something you actually enjoy doing 😊
