I think that the reason we don’t visit a doctor to get an opinion on ‘that lump’ is that once the doctor diagnoses it as ‘incurable cancer’ it becomes ‘incurable cancer’; and that faced by of that kind of ‘bullet from a professional’, we simply don’t have armour strong enough to defend against it. Avoiding a diagnosis feels like dodging a bullet.
Sometimes it’s just a lump and doctors make it into something it isn’t. Some doctors are just true to their profession and not to humanity. >.<
